Dear Readers,
I have a confession to make. I am absolutely, hopelessly in love with autumn.
From the first of September through the last days of November, I am in my element. Give me colorful leaves, pumpkins on the porch, cozy sweaters, crackling bonfires, and a big pot of homemade soup simmering on the stove, and I'm a happy woman.
I was born in October, and I'm thoroughly convinced that explains my lifelong obsession with all things fall. It's in the blood!
There's just something magical about this time of year. The golden afternoon sunlight, the smell of wood smoke drifting through the air, the anticipation of the holidays, and that wonderful feeling of coming inside from the cold to something warm and comforting.
Of course, here in coastal Georgia, autumn sometimes requires a little imagination. While the rest of the country is pulling on sweaters and watching leaves tumble from the trees, we may still be running the air conditioner! But that doesn't stop me from celebrating my favorite season.
And it's precisely why I created November's Enchanted Library collection, Harvest, Hayrides & Homicide.
Because what better way to spend a chilly November afternoon than curled up somewhere comfortable, a steaming mug of your favorite beverage close at hand, and a book that transports you to a world of harvest festivals, apple orchards, charming villages, and perhaps a murder or two?
That's the beauty of books. Even when the weather refuses to cooperate, we can escape into the autumn of our dreams.
If you're new to The Enchanted Library, let me tell you a little about it.
Each month, we'll explore a different theme through a specially curated collection of cozy mysteries and other cozy reads. One month might take us into the kitchens of charming small-town bakeries, another into a world of witches, potions, and paranormal happenings.
We might wander through snow-covered villages at Christmas, visit seaside towns in summer, or lose ourselves in the gardens of an English country estate.
Wherever our literary travels take us, there will always be new books, intriguing characters, and wonderful authors waiting to be discovered.
And that's where this magazine comes in!
I've always believed there's more to a good book than what happens between the first and last pages. Every Friday, we'll take a deeper dive into the books featured in our monthly collection and the creative minds behind them.
You'll find author interviews, behind-the-book stories, recipes, fascinating research, puzzles, and other little treasures inspired by the stories we love.
So pour yourself something warm, settle into your favorite reading spot, and come explore with me.
Happy reading!
